About us
In 1994 Wilhelm Uphoff, a trained merchant from Nordkirchen (NRW), founded the company. The idea was to offer decorative items and promotional figures made of fiberglass resin to promote sales in the catering and other business sectors. It all started with life-size cooking figures and ice cream displays. The biggest customers at that time were the company Inter-Dekor-Display in Utrecht (Holland) and a furniture chain from Belgium.
In 1997 Gabriele Gaßmann from Bad Tennstedt (Thuringia) joined the company as a lateral entrant. Some restructuring was carried out and the business has been run jointly ever since. Trade fair appearances at the Gafa in Cologne as well as various small and large catering trade fairs (Internorga Hamburg) were just as much a part of the field of activity as direct customer contact. Many interesting people crossed our paths and from this the most different business contacts as well as various fields of activity developed.
Now it was not only about the distribution of decoration articles and advertising figures, but also about the joint development of these with our customers. Thus, for many years we have been developing and producing articles for a company operating in the optical, dental and hearing acoustics industry.
A major challenge for us was the production of life-size milk cows made of fiberglass resin. We were also faced with logistical tasks. The cows started their journey to Dubai, Russia, Algeria, Turkey and the USA, among others. One of our most interesting orders is the production of camel figures with airbrush design for use in smoking lounges at airports all over the world and promotional campaigns as well as oversized M&M figures for cinemas.
We also realized projects for several cities events.
Since 1997 we have been supplying them with sculptures and animal figures specially designed by our sculptors. A good team of airbrushers and artists is at our side, which enables us to realize many individual customer wishes. Most recently, these were 13 giant insects for an installation and exhibition on Fehmarn. If there is still time left, we also dedicate ourselves to our own creations, such as our in-house Wölkchen sheep, which enjoys great popularity and has received protection at the German and international patent office. In order to meet the needs of our customers and to guarantee a fast delivery, we have increased our storage capacity in 2010 with the construction of an additional hall.
